Formulations is an Oriental Medicine Clinic and an Herbal Apothecary located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Owned and operated by Deborahlise Mota, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, licensed herbalist and acupuncturist. Formulations provides herbal and acupuncture treatments by appointment, as well as an herbal blending service for healthcare practitioners.
Formulations’ Herbal Apothecary has over 700 bulk Chinese, Western, and Ayurvedic herbs, as well as bulk tinctures and granules. We also carry an extensive selection of Chinese patent formulas, nutritional supplements, homeopathic remedies, liquid herbal formulas, books, and beauty care products. In order to support the local economy, we use locally made herbal and nutritional remedies whenever possible. We are dedicated to providing organic, whole food-based, and strictly regulated products. Formulations has annual spring and summer healthcare classes in our courtyard. Our classes are taught by a variety of practitioners, covering topics such as nutrition, women’s health, Ayurveda, homeopathy, Chinese medicine, aromatherapy, and herbal medicine. In December of 2004, Dr. Mota spearheaded the New Mexico Chapter of the American Herbalist Guild, and has organized many educational events throughout the state. The vision is to create a large network of herbalists and plant lovers of every tradition, and provide a forum for health education.
